Emera New Brunswick

Emera New Brunswick is the owner of the Brunswick Pipeline based out of Saint John, New Brunswick. The 145-kilometre Brunswick Pipeline delivers liquified natural gas to markets in Canada and the US Northeast.

Emera Newfoundland & Labrador

Emera Newfoundland & Labrador (ENL) has offices in both Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. ENL was established in 2010 as the business entity responsible for Emera Inc.’s strategic investments, such as the Maritime Link, in Newfoundland & Labrador.

Tampa Electric

Tampa Electric is a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. that has supplied the Tampa Bay area with electricity since 1899. Tampa Electric has over 5,000 megawatts (MWs) of generating capacity and over 800,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

New Mexico Gas Company

New Mexico Gas Company (NMGC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. With headquarters in Albuquerque, NMGC is the largest natural gas utility in New Mexico and operates in 27 out of its 33 counties. NMGC maintains over 12,000 miles of pipeline and provides service to 540,000 customers.

Peoples Gas

Peoples Gas (PGS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. based out of Tampa, Florida. PGS provides residents and businesses with reliable and affordable natural gas products and services. They are Florida’s largest natural gas provider with over 445,000 customers across the state.

Barbados Light & Power Company

The Barbados Light & Power Company (BLPC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Caribbean. BLPC safely provides energy and energy services to 125,000 customers across Barbados.

Grand Bahama Power Company

Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) is a majority owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. GBPC provides electricity to the island of Grand Bahama from West End to Sweeting’s Cay in the East. GBPC is an integrated utility serving 18,800 customers across the island.

Brooklyn Power is a carbon neutral 30-megawatt biomass facility that generates power using waste wood and forestry, plus milling byproducts like bark, wood chips, and sawdust.

"Starting as an Assistant Shift Engineer with Brooklyn Power in 2008, I had the opportunity to work alongside many experienced Operators who supported my development and helped me grow—and with support of the company, achieve my 2nd Class Power Engineer.

In recent years, my interest grew in the environmental space and when an opportunity presented itself with Brooklyn Power as an Environment & Safety Analyst, I jumped. This new position allows me to contribute meaningfully to our company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and safety while evolving my career in an interesting and engaging field."
